I have a land grant record for a JOSEPH POLK who sold it to John Maiden -- 80 acres in Iredell County, NC on Hunting Creek. Mary Maiden disavowed any claim to this land; I think she may have been his daughter.
I am looking for any information on this Joseph Polk. He may have left Iredell for Mecklenberg County, NC by 1800. Desperate for any help anyone can lend. Thanks.
