Elsie Thompson (my great grandmother) was listed on the 1880 census being 17 years old in Monroe, Union, NC. The FAMILY BIBLE showed Elsie Duke) with a single line drawn through Duke) and Polk written above. Was her maiden name DUKE OR POLK? I would like to find out who her parents were. After my great grandfather Ebenezer died she married Milas Fink. Any info please. Thanks Vivian Neal Patterson
