While reading through General Assmbly Session petitions years ago, I remember seeing a petition for a patent on a train track design. I think it was in the 1830's or 40's and the request was from Thomas Polk of Anson. The petition included drawings and such. Anyhow, Polk Mountain is hill that turned the Rocky River!
