The only Polks I know of who were in Chatham Co., were the descendants of William Polk of Accomac Co., VA., and none of these, to my knowledge, came to Mecklenburg and surrounding areas. Others of this group were in Randolph Co., NC. I have not checked on the Pollocks in the counties you mentioned. I don't know anything about this Baptist group you mentioned. I cannot address the possibilities you mentioned since I know so little about these Polks and Pollocks you mention. They are news to me. Bill Polk, Kansas City, MO.
