Hello Bill; I have had my DNA tested at both Ancestry and FamilyTree DNA. It's my impression that Ancestry predicts the most common recent ancestor as being a lot further back than FamilyTree. At Ancestry you came out a genetic distance of 3 on a 33 marker test with another WM Polk/MT descendant. This projects to about a genetic distance of 6 on a 67 marker test. At FamilyTree I only came out a close enough match with one person for them to mention and that was a Pollock. We were a genetic distance of 6 apart and FamilyTree projected the most recent common ancestor to be about 9 generations. I really feel that the Ancestry DNA test actually confirms the connection you were looking for. Ned Fleet
