Bob,
Some of the same research that I referenced before suggests that Thomas Polk of Polk Mtn. was a brother of John Polk, Sr. of Anson Co., NC. What do you know of this John Polk who died in 1846 in Anson Co. (Union?)? Two of his sons, John Polk, Jr. and Thomas Polk were both in Hardin Co., TN before 1830. They lived in the community where I live today. I have proof that they were sons of John Sr. of Anson, but little else.
