Interesting. Do you have any sibling names? Do you have any other family surnames of people who may have taken in any of the children? I looked in Newton Co., GA., 1900 census, for any unattached POLK, POKE, POPE children. There was only one in Newton Co., he was Zed Polk, b. April 1885, who was living with a Moore family. So, other siblings of Clarence Polk must have either been enumerated under the surname of the family with whom they were living, or the sibling was living in other than Newton County. I bet if we find the parents, I have the Polk ancestry. Please keep us posted. Bill
