This is to post an abstract of the obituary for Audrey Polk Pennell age 98 born July 24 1910 in Union Co. NC daughter of Fred McCall and Nonie Evelyn (Pigg) Polk. She died August 13, 2008 at Autumn Care in Salisbury, Rowan Co. NC. Her home was in Kannapolis. She will be buried in the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Glenn Pennell on January 1 1989; daughter Anna Griffin and brother Blaine J. Polk.
She is survived by her sons Glain S. Pennell, Gene D. and a daughter Eulane P. Hamm.
Audrey is a descendant from Captain Charles Polk and second wife Philapena Helms Polk through their son George W.
