In 1960 my grandmother, Sonora (PERRY) WOOD worked with a Perry Researcher named Enid Wells Sitton. Enid was writing a family book on the Perry family for her grandchildren, She located as many living Perry decedents as she could find across the country and had them fill our family sheets of as many of the descendants as they could remember and of course their immediate families.
She then compiled a family tree of the Phillip Perry ancestor born in England that migrated to Isle of Wright Co. VA in 1655.It goes from him to the Perry's of North Carolina (the seven brothers) and to William Marshall Perry and his children of Georgia. Then living decedents filled in the current people on their sheets.
Well to make this story short, I found this masterpiece stuck in a box in my sister's garage, All the forms done by the families had been xeroxed and appended to the tree along with personal stories. So if there are decedents of Enid Wells Sitton, please know she was a goddess! She said in her letter that a copy of the book would be placed in "her historical library" in Houston, TX. Does that ring a bell? There were lots of photos that would be wonderful to see and possibly scan the original for the xeroxed pages have gone pale.
I am currently loading all the families in my Perry tree and have a long ways to go. I will say that most are in the Texas area since William Marshall Perry left Alabama in 1833 and went to Driftwood, TX. They relied on a lot of family bibles to verify names births, marriages etc. It is outstanding work. Sure has "fleshed-out" the info that I had found on-line.
