Hello Cousin:
The Pedigo family landed in Pittsburgh on a boat from Holland probably comming from France.

Two brothers ran away from when they were teenagers at most. They settled in Virginia on both sides of the Smith River. Became large land owners by the time of the revolution. I have an ancestery book of the two brothers, if your Joseph is in particular family they will listed in it.
Sorry I don't remember the name of the county or county seat, but if you get this and are interested I can give you some information. There is extensive Pedigo information in the archives there.
