Bettie Jo,
My father did not recognize anyone in the pictures. He was only the Fluvanna Co area once or twice as a young man(1930s) and would not know too many people. Daddy died in January of this year at the age of 95. I went to Fluvanna Co, Va in September and went to the Fluvanna Co, Va historical society. I copied some info on the James Franklin Payne and family. He was the father of Walter Payne. Some of the info does not "jive" with what I have. Especially the civil war information. James F Payne did not die during the civil war even though he was a soldier.
I'm am still trying to find out what happened to the William Jordan Payne bible. It was referenced in a newspaper article done by Rev B L Ancell and published in the newspaper in 1936.Kathy
