According to "Campbell Chronicles and Family Sketches," Clarissa Aylett Payne was the daughter of Baldwin Payne and Catherine Coles. I've been operating under this assumption for some time, and I've had little luck finding information for her until today, when I found some great research done by other descendants that shows Clarissa ELLIOTT PAYNE was actually the SISTER of Baldwin Payne -- NOT his daughter -- and that her parents, too, were Phillip Payne and Elizabeth Dandridge.
I'm thoroughly confused now, and not sure who's correct. I have Coleses, Wyatts and Paynes on all sides of my tree, so names could have gotten mixed up at some point. Can anyone shed some light on this topic?
