In the Paynes of Virginia book, they have William Payne, born 1751-52 who married Mary Robinson as the William Payne who was the pall-bearer for George Washington's funeral. The book has his death date Sept. 23, 1813. If you google him on the internet, it has William Payne who was the pall-bearer, as the one who struck Washington in 1754, not the father of the one who was the pall-bearer. Also has Payne dying in 1800, not 1813. Anyone know which is correct?
