I have been fortunate to receive a autobiography of sorts written about 1955 by Elsie Mae Parmer. Elsie was born in 1892 near the Old Red Mill in Northwestern Shelby County, IN. Her father, Fred, was a son of James Parmer. James in turn was a son of Isaac. She was married at 15 years of age to Brent Davisson in North Dakota after her parents moved there from Indiana. She describes life in the frontier. Later they move back to Indiana and she and Brent settle in Jennings County. They have about 7 children. I will be happy to supply a copy to any of the Parmer family or relatives who are interested.
