PARKS, ROBERT, New London, son of Thomas the first, married 24 Nov. 1681, Rachel, eldest daughter of Thomas Leffingwell, had Rebecca, born 7 Sept. following; James, 1684; and eight more children and died before Sept. 1707.
SAMUEL, Stonington, son of Robert, had Robert, William, and probably other children.
THOMAS, Wethersfield, son of Robert, born in England, by wife Dorothy, had Martha, born 1646; Thomas, 1648; removed to Stonington, thence to New London, had Robert, Nathaniel, William, Dorothy, Alice, and John, of
whose dates of birth we are ignorant. Provided for wife, Dorothy, for children John, Nathaniel, William, Martha, Dorothy, and Alice, for grandson Samuel, son of
Thomas, and James, son of Robert, he made his will 5 Sept. 1707, and died 30 July 1709. He was of the new town of Preston 1686, and first deac. of the church there gathering 1698. His daughter, Martha, married 16 Jan. 1668, Isaac Wheeler of Stonington; Dorothy married Apr. 1670, Joseph Morgan; and Alice married Mar. 16, 1673, Greenfield Larrabee.
THOMAS, Newton, son of Richard the first, probably born in England married 1 Dec. 1653, Abigail, daughter of Edward Dix, had Thomas, b. 2 Nov. 1654; John, 6 Sept. 1656; Abigail, 3 Mar. 1658; Edward, 8 Apr. 1661; Richard, 21 Dec. 1663; Sarah, 21 Mar. 1666; Rebecca, 13 Apr. 1668; Jonathan, 27 Aug. 1670; and Elizabeth 28 July 1679; was freeman 1671, and died 1690. Abigail married 9 Dec. 1679, John Fiske; Sarah married 4 Aug. 1686, John Knapp 2d; Rebecca married 1686, John Sanger; and Elizabeth married John Holland.
THOMAS, New London, son of Thomas of the same, married 4 Jan. 1672, Mary, daughter of Robert Allyn, had Samuel, born 26 Nov. 1673; Thomas, 20 Jan. 1676; Mary. 28
Jan. 1678; Jonathan, 6 Apr. 1679; and Deborah, dec. 1680; and died before his father.
THOMAS, Newton, son of Thomas of the same, freeman 1680,
died 28 Aug. 1681.

the Lion, arriving at Boston, Feb. 1631, with Roger Williams, was, perhaps, sent by his father to look out good spot for plantation, one of the earliest memb.
of the church, freman 18 May 1631, married Martha, daughter of John Holgrave of Salem, had Theoda, born 26 July 1637; Hannah, 28 Aug. 1639; died 24, buried 26 June 1655; Martha, 2, baptised 13 Mar. 1642; Sarah, baptised 19
1643, who died says the town records 8 Sept. following; John, 30 June, baptised 6 July 1645, died next June; Deborah, baptised 16 Jan. 1647, whose birth the
town records omits, but inserts her death Aug. 1649; John, again 13 May 1649, died at 14 yrs.; Deborah, again, born 26 Mary. baptised 6 Apr. 1651; s. and dead twin unbaptised buried 1 June 1653; William, baptised 8 Oct. 1654, died young; and Hannah, again, 26 Sept. 1658; artillery company 1638, was representative various yrs. after,the longest term of service in that rank under the old charter.
Johnson, in his "Wonderwork. Providence" &c. calls him "a man of a pregnant understanding," and he knew well, for he sat 21 yrs. with him. He was many yrs. deacon and died 11 May 1685; having made his will 20 July preceding with codicil of 4 Apr. in which he provides for the wife of
his youth, mentioned two surviving daughters and many grandchildren, besides brthers Thomas, deceased and Samuel. But grave stone in Geneal. Reg. makes the death 10 May 1683. The widow, Martha, died 25 Aug. 1708, aged 94, Theoda married 2 Mar. 1654, Samuel Williams, and so was mother of Rev. John, H. C. 1683, of Deerfield, the famous "Redeemed Captive;" another daughter, Martha, married Isaac Williams, whose son, William. H. C. 1683, minister of Hatfield, the grandfather, says he had taken charge of from the age of 3 yrs. beside part of Stonington
land to other son and another daughter married John Smith, and to them he gives part of his Stonington land. Five of his name, in its several spellings had
been graduated at Harv. in 1834 and thirteen at other New England colleges.
