Hello. I just found out today that one of my ancestors was probably an Isabella PARK, probably born around 1815 in Lancashire, England.
I am descended from an Isabella BURROWS born in Skerton, Lancashire, England, in 1829. She was in Liverpool, England, when she met and married John LEWIS in 1856. They had a son, John "Stanley" LEWIS, born 1859. He was my great-grandfather.
I had found out that Isabella's father was a John BURROWS, a Coach Builder, possibly near Bury, Lancashire. But, I did not know who her mother was - until today.
I have further information on the LEWIS extended family, but that's all I'll mention for now.
I'll just say that John and Isabella both died around 1870, and their only son went to the Blue Coat School in Liverpool. In 1873, when the Liverpool Sheltering Homes opened, "Stanley" went there. In 1874, he was "shipped to Canada" as part of the "child migrant scheme." He went to a family in Nova Scotia.
In 1879, he married another "British Home Child" (Canadian term) in Nova Scotia. They migrated to Massachusetts in 1881 and settled in Stoneham, MA. They had 13 children.

P.S. John LEWIS' parents were William LEWIS and Elizabeth TROUGHTON from Shropshire and Cheshire, England.
"Stanley's" wife was Mary CORKILL, b1860 in Liverpool. Her father was Evan CORKILL from the Isle of Man.
