PAGAN family from Corsica in Puerto Rico

My grandfather's family immigrated to Puerto Rico from Corsica. While this island is a province of France, the people are of Italian descent. There may be a possibility that the surname is actually PAGAN, but it could have been changed (as many Italians did) to a Spanish version; thus, Paganelli, Pagani, Paganucci, Paganacci, etc. are possibilities. My grandfather and dad are from the Coamo area. Also, I have heard through them about the family having land in the past (there must be some connection with other posters' stories). My grandfather and his parents were known as Los Corsos; my grandfather lived in Chicago until his final days and was married to my grandmother, who is from the SOTOMAYOR family. Any information would be greatly appreciated...even if there is some connection with Venice.
