Hello again David, It has been awhile since we corresponded. I'm very interested in the information that David is buried in Randolph County, Illinois. His widow says he died in Franklin County, VA, in her deposition for her pension. David and Mary Pagan bought land on the Franklin county side of the Staunton/Roanoke River on Grimes Creek in September 1804 and sold it to one of the Harmans in 1814 shortly before David died. The deeds are in Franklin. David had previously bought and sold a great deal of land on the Bedford side during the 1780's. As you know there is a Pagan cemetery at his former cabin site near Fort Kaskaskia in Illinois but no Pagan headstones are there per the park ranger at Kaskaskia, primarily river rocks for headstones. I've never located any photos of any of the sons of George Pagan and Polly but I do have a photo of Joseph Green Pagan, their cousin who was in the 58th VA, and also the Captain of that company, Jacob Holley. Good luck in your hunting. Notify Administrator about this message?
