There appears to be no evidence as to whether he died at the battle of Shallow Ford. But note that the lands of John Pace were confiscated not because he was killed by Loyalists but because he himself was a Loyalist -- i.e., a Tory.

The petition proves that Burwell Pace was a son of John "the Tory". But the parents of John Pace himself are unidentified.
