BHUI/BUIDHE SEPT
Posted by: Don O'Leary (ID *****4689) Date: May 29, 2009 at 18:09:47

Anyone out there who is a descendant of the O'Leary Bhui Sept near Inchigeelagh, Co. Cork please contact me at dbjoleary@aol.com. I discovered last fall after the O'Leary Clan reunion in Inchigeelagh that I am a descendant of this sept via the DNA test results from Daniel Bhui O'Leary in Kiskeam, Co. Cork, with whom I match at six generations, or about 150 years ago. The Bhui clan goes back to the 1500's and the poet Maire Bhui O'Leary, b. 1774 in Tooreeneanan, Co. Cork. Her youngest brother Richard, b. 1795 may have been my g.g.grf. Still looking for the origins of my grt. grf. Michael in Cork or Kerry, but knowing what clan I came from is exciting and narrows down the search dramatically.

Don
