I am the granddaughter of Daniel O'Leary and Hannah Sullivan of Glenflesk/Killaha parish; their home was across the road from Muckross abbey.
My father, John, was born in 1924. My father's siblings were Daniel, Dennis, Mary, Margaret(?), Sheila, Joan and Richard. I assume that my grandfather would have been in his late teens/early 20's for the 1911 census. My grandmother died after the birth of Richard in 1932. I'm guessing that she would have been in her mid-30s.
My grandfather had a brother, Cornelius, who died in Dublin in the spring of 1963. He played a role in the Uprising and served in the Defence Forces during "the emergency". He was imprisoned in Clonmel and sentenced to death for refusing to transport a train of British soldiers. Cornelius had 10 children, 4 sons and 6 daughters. One of his daughters was Kathleen and one of his sons was Richard.
