LOSES FOOT UNDER WHEELS
Man Leaves Train at Glendale and Returns Late
GLENDALE,Or., June 8 - As No. 14 pulled out of the station Saturday afternoon, a passenger, James O'Leary, whose home is at Pocatello, Idaho, was severely injured by falling beneath the wheels. He got off when the train stopped to take water and ran over to a saloon to get a drink. As he came out of the saloon the train started to pull out and he ran to catch it. As he grasped the step railing, he slipped, and his left foot went under the wheels. The foot was badly mangled. He was picked up and carried to the Glendale hospital, where his wound was dressed by Dr. Bether. The man's age is 40; he is an engineer and was on his way to Portland. He is a member of the Pocatello W.O.W. lodge.
