After 20 years of searching, I had a reply to a posting which confirmed the marriage of Jeremiah REGAN to Mary LEARY in 1888 in Elmira, NY. Two sons of this marriage Timothy and Jeremiah were born in 1888 and 1890 respectively, in Steelton, PA. and grew up in Elmira, NY. The father, Jeremiah died about 1890. This family connects with Regans in Caheragh, Ireland. Anyone with Regans or Reagans from Elmira or Steelton who would like to compare notes, I will gladly exchange information. Other family names include McCarthy, Norris, Collins.
I cannot find the sons on the 1920 or 1930 census or the SS. death index, although at least Timothy was alive in late 1930 or 1940s. After such a monumental breakthrough I am anxious to find out what happened to the sons.
