Since posting your message above in 2007, I wonder if you have learned anything else about the O'Callaghan's> I too, have O'Callaghans, and Callaghans(same family dropping the O) Its a very extensive family, and they too were from Donegal, I wonder if you have any associated surnames(marriages etc) I do, some of them are. O'Callaghan, Callaghan, Bradley,Harkin, Dougherty, Doherty, McDaid, McDevitt, Duffy, Mooney, McElinney, Frotton, Paige, I have been able to trace(with help from my late aunt actually) O'Callaghan's back to Philip O'Callaghan who was born about 1730, in Newtongrove Kilmacrenan Co Donegal who married Mary O'Boyle. She was born about 1745 in Kilmacrenan Parish Co Donegal. Their children were Patrick Callaghan, William O'Callaghan, Francis Callaghan, Edward Callaghan, and Philip O'Callaghan (jr i geuss) Later some of the famiies would immigrate to MA USA and settle in the Woburn and Winchester area(about 10-15 miles north of boston ma.
