Dorothy,
I found your posting for O'Byant-Hansborough. I am a descendant of Holcoms dau Mary who married Levi Mills.
I have information on this family which you sent me many years ago.(pre-internet days.)Family illness and other responsibilities kept me from my research for many years.
That said I am back at at it with a fervor.
I would like to trade notes with you if you are so inclined. I have this family back to Joseph Meek Sr and Wife Lydia ? Meek. Also To Adam Starns who married Hannah
Meek dau of Joseph Sr. I am sure you are ahead of me on this line.
There are a couple of immediate questions that I have. Holcom served in War of 1812 under a Captain James Meek. Is this James brother of Hannah? Also , If my info is correct The famous " Mountain Man MEEK" of Oregon fame was first cousin to Elizabeth (Starns) O'Bryant wife of Holcom.
Is this correct? Has it been proven that Elizabeth was born
in what is now East Tenn, then N.Car.? If so we qualify to belong to "The First Families Of Tennessee".
Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Michael D O'Keefe
