My father-in-law is Melville Altman Barr. He was born in California, but his parents moved there during the Depression from Illinois. I see in your discussions that Melville O'Barr is listed. Does anyone have an Altman and an O'Barr on their line? I just feel that Altman is a family name. Mel's dad died when he was young and because of the distances and the Depression, he knows very little about his Barr's. I'm just guessing that Barr and O'Barr are the same. i mean, how many Melville Barr/O'Barr's can there be? Its not like Micheal or Thomas. Family group sheets and links to online ancestor chart would really help. I have some (very little) information at home and it has been so long since I touched it, I can't remember most of it. But this thread really got me excited. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. My e-mail is margoDOTritaATgmailDOTcom (replace the DOT and the AT with the symbol) Thanks in advance.
