Don't know but my family came from Scotland in the early 1700's and moved to Irland and changed they're name to McMaster , my grandfather James McMaster married a MaGill and moved to Canada in the early 1900's around 1920 something. But I did notice the first mate on the Titanic second name was McMaster and saked if that was a normai name for a second name back then and the guy told me it was probably his mother's maiden name. Do you think he might have been related? I'm Robert McMaster living in Ontario , Canada and Often wonder where my family is eh!
