I'm searching for information on Samuel E. McCLelland. He was born between 1833-1835 Sc. The 1860 Bosque Co. Tx census shows age 25 [which would be b. 1835] and the 1870 McLennan Co. Tx. census show 37 [which would be b. 1837]. However both Census show the same people at approx. 10 years differnce. He was married to Sarah, born between 1835-1836. Again the 1860 census shows 25 and the 1870 census shows 34. In 1860 Bosque Co. Tx., his listed occupation is "Shepard". In 1870 McLennan Co. Tx., his listed occupation is "Land Agent". They moved to Texas between 1855 and 1858. This is based on child birth info. The oldest child; Sally Anna McCLelland, was b.abt.1855/Sc., 2nd child, Stephan F.A. McCLelland (I assume F.A.=F.Austin) was b.abt.1858/Tx. 3rd child, Mary McClelland, was b.abt.1861/Tx.. 4th child, Elizabeth "Betty" McCLelland was b.abt.1864/Tx. Betty married a James Russell Tinsley, this is my descent. And the 4th child Jenny was b.abt.1869/Tx. I have found a David McClelland married to Mary in the 1850 Anderson Co. Sc. census, David is 53 b.abt 1787/Sc. Mary is 52 b.abt.1798/Sc. their children included William C. McClelland b.abt.1832/Sc. Samuel McClelland b.abt.1835 (which matches my Samuel) Sarah E. McClelland, b.abt. 1837/Sc., David R. McClelland, b.abt. 1834/Sc. and Mary McClelland, b.abt. 1841/Sc. Any help at all, would be greatly appriciated.
