I have what appears to be conflicting information. I suppose it is possible that there would be two Preston S. Mabee's of about the same age living in Warwick, Orange, NY but what I have lists Preston's father as being John Mabee. Two sources, 1910 census and WWI draft registration card. If this is the same Preston, and I believe it is, then I have his tree going back to an Eden Mabee born in this region in the late 1700's. I also have the obit for Anna Vander Meulen with the names of her parents. I do not know what the connection might be to a Clifford Israel Mabee born in England. It was not clear to me if you were stating that Clifford I Mabee was the father of Preston or if Clifford was from another side of your family. 1910 US Census Name: Preston S Mabee Age in 1910: 12 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1898 Birthplace: New York Relation to Head of House: Son Father's Name: John E Father's Birth Place: New Jersey Mother's Name: Margaret Mother's Birth Place: New Jersey Home in 1910: Warwick, Orange, New York Marital Status: Single Race: White Gender: Male Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age John E Mabee 41 Margaret Mabee 30 Preston S Mabee 12 Ernest B Mabee 10 Helen A Mabee 7 John E Mabee 6 Viola B Mabee 4 Stella S Mabee 3 Margaret Mabee 1 7/12 WWI draft card lists name as Preston Stevenson Mabee, born 7 January 1899, father as being John Mabee. Obit in Warwick Advertiser: Anna V Mabee of Warwick, a self-employed farmer and a 71 year resident of the area, died January 16, at St Anthony Community Hospital. She was 90. The daughter of the late William and Augusta De Boer Vander Meulen, she was born November 28 1906 in Ho-Ho-Kus NJ. She was the widow of Preston S Mabee, Sr. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Benedict of Bellvale, NY and Dorothy Mabee of Warwick; two sons, Preston S Mabee, Jr. and Raymond Mabee of Warwick; one sister Sara Stengenga of Washingtonville, NY; several nieces and nephews; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan 29 from 1-2 PM at Lazear-Smith Funeral Homa. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday. The Dr Rev Marion Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery. Donations may be made to Warwick Valley Ambulance Corp. Hope this information is helpful tho I realize it opens up new questions as well which for me is the joy of genealogy. Notify Administrator about this message?
