Hi Amy,
I have done a lot of research on the Custer family. My grandmother was a Custer.Her father, John Cassidy Custer, was born 1819 and he and General George A. Custer shared the same ggggrandfather. The original imigrant,was Paulus Kuster who emigrated to America 1691 from Germany.His son, Arnold Kuster was the father Nicholas Custer who is the ggggrandfather of GAC.
