Looking for James and Charles Leary, born in 1844 and 1842 respectively. These were two brothers who dropped out of our family tree in the 1860's. Both were born on Grand Manan Island, then moved to Machias, Maine with their parents. James was in the Union Army during the Civil War, and was last seen in Alexandria, VA in 1865, just after the war was concluded. Charles went to sea in 1862, and was never heard from again, but was "thought to be in Australia". Actual name was O'Leary, although the family dropped the "O" when the first Learys immigrated from Ireland in about 1830 or so.
