Any information on this family would be helpfule!!

I believe that Charles Mozley is the son of Miles Mozley and Mary Ann "Missouri" Smith.

Mattie appears to be the daughter of Lemuel Leary of Hill Co., TX. This is what I have:

Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church. No additional information is available. Ancestral File may list the same family and the submitter.

In the 1900 census of Hill Co., TX, there is a Lemuel E. Leary who has a daughter named Mattie P. There is also a Charlotte Mosily, same age as Mattie, listed as daughter, widowed with two children, Inez A., gdaughter, age 2, and Charley W., gson, age 1.

In an email from a Leary researcher:

Mona,

I think that Mattie is the mother of Charlene Mosely. I'm not sure about Charlotte Mosely however. She may have been the Mattie's "same age step daughter" or sister-in-law. By 1900, Mattie's 1st husband, Charles Mosely, had died. Perhaps she moved back to the Leary household with Mattie and Mattie's two children - Inez and Charlene.

Here's some info from my Leary notes:

Washington County Marriages from County Records
Leary, L. E. Whitner, M. E. Vol 4 P 221 Oct/21/1872

When Margaret Whitener Leary divorced Lemuel E. Leary aft 1900, she moved to Ellis County (Milford) and lived near her brother Richard Whitener.

Lemuel E Leary and Margaret Ellen Whitener's children were:
Mattie Leary, bn March 1875
Allie Leary, bn November 1876
Frank Edward Leary, bn ?
William Ross Leary, bn 1874
Lizzie Mae Leary, bn 1876

Hill Country Crossroads II:1:'83 - Hill Co Gen Society
"Matt Leary, George Sevier, and Guy Sevier were the first students in a log schoolhouse called Richland School Dist. #57. Teacher and pupils acted as janitors." Early teacher, Dr. Warner Holland, wrote alphabet and numbers on the ceiling as a guide for students. He was also a medical doctor.

1900 census
HILL COUNTY
Lemuel E. June 1853 Alabama
Margaret E. June 1854 Mississippi
Mattie Mar 1875 TX
Allie Nov 1876
Charlotte Mosely 1875
Inez Aug 1897
Charlene 1899
Lemuel L. Feb 1820 NC

Charlotte Mosely may be Mattie Leary's sister-in-law or possibley a "same age step-daughter" if Charles Mosely was much older.

From History of Iverson Community:
"Matt Leary enrolled in Baylor Female College at Belton, probably the first person in Iverson to attend a private school. She had a small house built across from her mother where she lived with her two children:
Inez
Charlene

Morris Leary, a son of Frank Leary died recently in Seattle Washington at the age of 92. He remembered Aunt Mattie as being a "tough old woman". He wrote that Mattie was married three times. First, to Charlie Moseley (spelling ?); they had two daughters, Inez and Charlene (known as Tat). Mattie's second husband was uncle 'Dink' Phillips who "fell off a wagon and was killed". Her third husband was named Bud Sevier.

That's all that I have.
