This is a far stretch, maybe not too helpful...
According to a 1966 or 1968 Encyclopedia Britannica (I looked it up in late 60's), a Prince Lauria from Spain landed on the coast of Italy. A walled town was built with 4000 people and outside another 3500. I don't know if that was the population 375 years ago when the prince landed there, or circa 1968.
My grandfather and grandmother were from somewhere around there and born circa 1900. Antonio and Rose Lauria came to Toronto Canada. There are currently about 35 Laurias across Canada.
