On January 20th 2010 the final DNA test results came in for the Lamarre dit Turgeon family. They match 65 out of 67 markers with a Knotts family as well as matching 100% with their haplogroup. These are two sets of DNA "fingerprints". As always with DNA testing, the testing company will not confirm that these families are related 100 or even 99%, but the odds against their being related are slim to none! Although the knotts family in question has done genealogical research to find their ancestor who came to America, they have yet to go beyond the year 1800. We hope this situation will change soon, and we hope to help them with this research.
