Aoife,
I am fairly new to genealogy, but have some information on my Kirwan family. My gggrandfather John Kirwan was born in Blindwell County Galway @1817. He had at least these siblings: Michael, William, James, Thomas, Matthias, and Joseph. All except Matthias emigrated to the US in the mid 1840's. The family moved from Galway at some point, because the brothers listed their place of origin as Tipperary, possibly the Clon Mel area. John Kirwan was married to Julia Blake and their first child, my ggrandmother was born in Tipperary in 1846. Their second child, James was born in Pennsylvania in 1849. If you have any information on this branch of Kirwans, I am definitely interested! My information comes from the Bradford County , PA Historical Society. Thanks! Cathy
