My great grandmother was Ellen Kirwan/Kerwin born in @1846 in County Tipperary.(I see from my grandfather's death certificate.)She emigrated to the US and married my great grandfather Charles William Hafner (@1838 Switzerland)likely in the states of New York or Pennsylvania. Ellen's death certificate from 1904 states her father as John Kirwan and her mother Julia Blake Kirwan. I can find Ellen and Charles William in the US census 1870 in New York and in Towanda,Pennsylvania 1880. They moved to Minnesota where Charles worked for a P. H. Kirwan who was a county auditor in Renville County, Minnesota. In 1885 Minnesota census they also had a Mary Kirwan living with the family. Any information out there about connections would be wonderful! Thanks!
