I have recently just discovered I have an ancestor in King Philip's War. I am trying to pin down the information. He was;
Wiliiam Read/Reade/Reed (1639-1706)- m. Easter Thompson/Tomson
He appears to have been involved in the Mount Hope Campaign under Capt Thomas Prentice and Capt Isaac Johnson with Lt Edward Oakes.
What I am not sure of is was he a private or a Capt. In other references I see him referred to as Capt.
What are the details of the Mount Hope Campaign? I am not totally familiar with King Philip's War so I am short on the details.
Any information is most welcome. Thank you in advance.
