Just found out a few more things that might help. My grandfather (Jasper David Jacobus) is actually a Jr. His father, of the same name, married Elizabeth? Smart who is a descendant of General George Brinton McClellan by a mistress with the last name of Smart.
Also, our section of Jacobus comes from the Towaco area in New Jersey and there's something about a couple of brothers who came from maybe The Netherlands?
