Hi - I'm also looking for a Thornton Jacobs. The one I'm interested in is in the 1830 Brown Co. Ohio census living among a group of families with the surname Edwards. My gggrandfather was named John Thornton Edwards and he was from Ohio, so I am wondering if Thornton Jacobs might have been an in-law and my gggrandfather named after him. It's admitedly a long shot, but JTE is a very solid "brick wall" for me. Thornton Jacobs is also in the 1840 Brown, OH census, but the Edwards families are not.
