I have a photo copy of the following newspaper article: George W. Horsley Dead Formaer Wichita Patrolman Dies Suddenly at Blackwell -- His Wife in Wichita. (Kansas0 George W. Horsely, 52 years old, patrolman on the Wichita police force for two years, died suddenly last night a blackwell, Ok. Notice of his death was received at 5 o'clock this mornign by Mrs . Horsley at the Horsely residence, 522 South Topeka Avenue. Mr. horsely went to Balckwell Tuesday to visit his son and other relatives. He had not been on duty for a week. He was given leave of absence to recover fro ma sprained wrist sustained in a fall from the runboard of the police motor care a few days ago. Mr. Horsley had been in ill health for several months an frequently was compelled to lay off for a few days. Due to Heart Failure Heart failure is believed to have been the cause as he was afflicted with that disease. Mrs. Horsley went to Blackwell this morning. No arrangements for the funeral have been made and it is not known whether burial will be made here or at Blackwell. Mr. Horsley prior to becoming a Wichita policeman two years ago was marshal at Wellington and at Blackwell for a number of years. Mr. Horsley is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter. One son lives at Blackwell and the others here. Notify Administrator about this message?
