Does anyone know anything about William Horsley and Mary Ann Johnson Cannell, born around the turn of the 1800s and married at St Matthews church in Bethnal Green on the 17th March 1832, a year after their first child, also named William was born, 1831. He was christened on 20th May of the same year, at Stepney.
In 1858, William married Emily Frances Saquis, born 1831. By this time he owned a successful rope manufacturing business. William and Emily had six children:
James Howard, born 1859 and died in London, date unknown,
Eliza, born c 1863
Alice, born c 1865
Alfred Charles William, my grandfather, born 1866,
Amelia, born 1867 and
Richard, born 1872
According to the British Census of 1881, they lived at 29 Bower Road, Hackney, London, Middlesex, England, (this address no longer exists, according to British Post). Their father William, died there in 1902.10
Thanks in anticipation
