There's not much info from postings on this site except to refer to a book few have. The Horsley's married into my Owen line. Here's information from censuses, interviews and other research, prob. cemeteries, but since it is not my direct line I didn't write it down. I live in St. Clair County, which is next to Blount County. The Horsleys came from North Carolina, to South Carolina, to Alabama, to Carroll Co, GA, then back to Alabama where they were in Blount and St. Clair Counties.
The earliest I have is:

Some personal history of Jessie B. Horsley: when I was a child we lived on the same dairy farm. My Dad and Curt Johnson worked together. Jessie made my school clothes out of flour sacks - which came in floral and other prints then (late 1950s). My mother and I would visit at their house, (it was a rock house with a nice front porch)which Jessie always kept scrupulously clean. I played at a small, round, rock water pond and sometimes Jessie's boys would be there. We were never playmates because they were teenagers and I had just started school. I carried water from a beautiful, white, lattice-work springhouse, located between our house and Jessie's. Yes. This was rural Alabama. Neither of the houses exist anymore. Neither does the huge white house on the hill where the dairy owners lived. My Dad and Curt Johnson were always best friends, though they lost touch many years before Dad died.
