You got it pretty close. Choose 'File', 'Import/Export', 'Export Gedcom', then choose one of the radio buttons 'All Individuals' or 'Marked Individuals' and optionally their children. She can also choose 'Destination' which will probably be gedcom 5.5, 'GEDCOM Character Set' which for most folks will be set to windows, 'Line Length' which I have set for 72, and 'Privacy Flag' which has a few options on it, and 'Submitter' on the bottom of the box. There are optional fields on a tab for gedcom tags. Then export it with a name. That should do it.
