Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. I'm pretty sure that Jacob's parents were Christian and Mary Gable (she was named as Magdalea in the 1860 census - Magalena?). I have two connections with the Gable family: (1) Jacob and Martha Gables' daughter Mary Elizabeth married Calvin Brown Peeples; they are my great-great grandparents; and (2) Calvin Brown Peeples' mother, Mathilda Katherine Philley Peeples, md. Elbert Christian Gable (second marriage for both). As for documentation, there's really not any because of the record loss in Calhoun County.
