I have seen the Southern Draytons before and had wondered if we were somehow linked but have never found any connection. They might have a connection back in England but never made it to the south to rejoin family. I have often wondered how my Drayton found his way up to NY and enlisted. At the time of his enlistment he was only a teenager so I wondered if possibley his father that he came over with from Enland had died and he enlisted so that he had somewhere to go. Maybe that why I have been unable to find his father in any censuses.
