My name is Schuyler Boll. I am writing on behalf of my Mother-In-Law Catherine Ward. She is looking for any information regarding her father's side of the family.
Her father was Frederick Drayton. Born July 6, 1892 (not 100% sure of the year). A Captain in the Australian 31st battalion during WWI. Frederick was awarded the French Croix de Guerre as well as mentioned in two dispatches. His father was Herbert Drayton who was married to Caroline Brooks of Bath, England. Cathy recalls that Frederick had an older brother "John Drayton" and older sister "Dorothy Drayton". Apparently Frederick's father and brother were also part of the military. It is believed that Frederick attended Sandhurst Military Academy College in England. There is some reference to Drayton Manor.
I noticed on a site for the Australian Military that a "John Drayton" son of "John Drayton" was killed in the line of duty during WWII. I am not sure if there is any connection to our Frederick Drayton.
Very little is known of Cathy's father's side of the family and she would like to learn more. I am keeping my fingers crossed that some of the lines from this forum connect.
