Thanks for your inquiry. The Mt. Paran Church for a long time has been made up of White (European-American) persons, although in its early days, Blacks (African-Americans who were slaves of White members, I presume) were also memebers. My SIZEMORES are said to be of English, French, and "Indian" descent. I have not found the specific Native American connection yet--they came from South Carolina, and it would be there or before they went there. The ROBINSONS are said to be Scottish. Another related family, REVELL (of French extraction), are also said to have Native American ties (I'm told they're linked to the Lumbee in North Carolina). I have read that some of the SIZEMORES have connections to the Melungeons, but I believe any link between our branch and the folk in that region would be in the very remote past.

I meant to mention in my query, but forgot, that some cousins have told me the CURLEES had Native American ancestry, and some of them "looked Indian." Have you found this to be the case with other CURLEES? I have assumed the name is of French origin, but I don't really know. John
