At the time Harlee made this claim in his books Kinfolks, neither Nugent's Cavaliers and Pioneers nor any of the York County Court books had been published.
Unaware John Crump had married an Elizabeth as well as his untimely death, he [Harlee] presumed the Elizabeth Crump, widow, in the law suit brought by the Bromfield, was the wife of Thomas and the daughter of Buck. Researchers, have never located any document even hinting at John's age, so he could have been a brother, nephew or other relative.

I have the date of Sept. 1 1636 as Thomas sale.

There are three different theories on Richard Buck's wife. One of our cousins stated emphatically that Buck was married to a Rachel Langman; who was related to one of the gaurdians. Mara was married to an Akins. Nugent says that Bridgit Crump came to VA in 1635. This may be a error on her part, because there are several errors in that great book as well.

Still another of our cousins believes Thomas was alive until about 1656. This same cousin has spent about a year and thousands of dollars working on proving one person with original documents.
I really feel we need to restrain our final judgement on this until someone locates a document concerning Thomas' parent's or perhaps another record linking Thoma with the daughter of the Rev. Buck.

I have said, there are some mistakes in what has been published.
