I was referring to "The Conger Family of America" by Maxine Leonard, a copy of which my great uncle Conger gave to me several years ago. The only statement on the subject is:
"...Clement E. Conger wrote: 'The information about John Belconger which I received from my Aunt Grace Conger who did a lot of correspondence on the Conger family was that he had come to Massachusetts in the early 1660's in his own ship called 'The Elizabeth Anne'. he is said to have lived at Newburyport, Massachusetts for about a year, but that he did not get along with the Puritans and set sail again in his own ship for northern New Jersey...'"
I am just trying to find a different source to corroborate this information. Where did you hear this?
