I have a John Collins married to a Catherine Crutcher with a daughter, Catherine (1761-1804),who married William Jolliffe (5/30/1761--5/4/1827) in Fayette Co, PA 8/1/1779.
See Glenn Lough's history of Marion Co WV, p 388.
Also a John Collins of Frederick County, VA, purchased 400 acres of land in Hampshire Co (W)VA on 8/4/1766. Cecil O'Dell, Pioneers of Old Frederick County (1995), p316.
And in 1742 a John Collens of the South Branch of the "Poetomack river" and other petitioners asked the Orange County VA court for a road in their area (present-day Hampshire County, WV) from the South Branch to the Cacapon River. Ibid, p 536.
